Stows central location makes it a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds further. Some towns and villages can be visited on foot, others are a short drive away. |

Walks |
||
Walkers will enjoy Stows central location, with wonderful walks to surrounding villages including Upper and Lower Slaughter, Broadwell, Swell and Bourton-on-the-Water. Other circular walks include Bledington and Oddington where there are some great places to eat - The Kings Head at Bleddington and The Fox at Oddington are a must. There is an Ordinance Survey map in the cottage for guests to use. |

A short drive away you will find popular villages such as Chipping Campden, Chipping Norton, Broadway, Burford and Moreton-in-Marsh. Owned by the National Trust, the famous village of Bibury (pictured right), described by William Morris as "the most beautiful village in England" is only a short drive away. Daylesford Organic Farm Shop is also a must for 'foodies' and only apx 3 miles outside of Stow. Not only is it an enjoyable place to visit with a lovely restaurant and tea shop but it also has a fantastic farm shop - voted organic retailer of 2004. The historic towns of Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Bath and Cheltenham are too within easy reach. Other Attractions include: Blenheim Palace , the birth place of Winston Churchill. Also at Bourton-on-the-Water, apart from the town itself, other attractions include Birdland, the Cotswolds Motor Museum and the Cotswolds Farm Park. |
